A familiar face in London

This month, we were delighted to welcome Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, creator and owner of the easy family of brands, back to London.

Sir Stelios visited easyHotel Shoreditch before heading to our Support Office in Victoria, where he met colleagues and heard more about the latest work taking place across the business.

It was a great moment to reflect on where easyHotel started, as a simple idea to make city stays easier and more affordable, and how far the brand has come since. Having launched easyJet in 1995 and helped transform affordable air travel across Europe, Sir Stelios brought the same no-frills, great-value approach to hospitality with the creation of easyHotel in 2004.

While Sir Stelios is no longer a shareholder or involved in the day-to-day running of easyHotel, we continue to license the easy brand from him and work closely with him and other easy family brand partners throughout the year.

From our early London roots to a growing network of hotels across Europe, the easyHotel story continues to move forward. With new openings, refurbished hotels and plenty more ahead, the visit was a timely reminder of the journey so far and the exciting road still to come.
