Welcome back, Tiago: Meet our returning Cluster Hotel Manager

After spending nine years with easyHotel before taking a short break, Tiago has now returned as Cluster Hotel Manager for Oxford and Milton Keynes.
Some colleagues may already know Tiago from his previous time with the business, while others may not yet have had the chance to meet him. We caught up with him to reflect on his easyHotel journey, hear what he learned during his time away and find out what he is most looking forward to in this next chapter.
Welcome back, Tiago! Can you tell us a little about your previous time at easyHotel and the roles you held?
I previously spent nine years with easyHotel, beginning as a night-shift team member at Old Street. From there, I progressed through a number of roles and supported the opening of several easyHotels across the UK. It gave me the opportunity to learn the business from the ground up and work with some brilliant teams along the way.
What first attracted you to a career in hospitality, and how has your career developed over the years?
What first attracted me to hospitality was the opportunity to meet different guests and face new challenges every day. No two days are ever the same, and I enjoy finding solutions, supporting guests and helping to create a positive experience for both customers and colleagues. Over the years, I have taken on more responsibility and continued developing as a hotel manager.
What did you work on or learn during your time away from easyHotel?
During my time away, I expanded my knowledge in several important areas, particularly compliance and food and beverage. The experience helped me develop further as a hotel manager and gave me a broader understanding of hotel operations. I am looking forward to bringing those new skills and ideas back into the business.
What made you decide that now was the right time to return?
The opportunity came along at the right time, and returning felt like the natural decision. easyHotel has always stayed with me, and I still felt a strong connection to the business and its people. As I like to say, once you are orange, you will always be orange.
What are you most looking forward to achieving as Cluster Hotel Manager for Oxford and Milton Keynes?
My goal is to help Milton Keynes reach the standard it deserves while maintaining the strong standards already in place at Oxford. I want both hotels to perform well, deliver great guest experiences and support our teams to be the best they can be. I am also looking forward to building strong, motivated teams across both locations.
Welcome back, Tiago. We are delighted to have you back as part of the easyHotel team.
