As part of our brand vision to be the ‘the go to brand for great-value stays that never compromise on comfort’ we are running a trial for complimentary tea and coffees in Dublin and London Shoreditch.

Whilst revenue from vending machines can be helpful, it’s really helpful to have high GRI scores and we’ve noticed that the topic of no kettle, tea or coffee in rooms is coming up fairly frequently. We don’t necessarily have the space for kettles in our rooms so we’re trialling using our existing vending machines to provide complimentary refreshments. Not only does it save space in our rooms, but keeps our housekeeping processes effective and helps give guests more reason to be in the lobby which is more opportunities for us to check in with our guests on how their stay is going.

In Dublin, our team is offering guests free tea and coffee from reception verbally and in Shoreditch, we’re putting up signage throughout the hotel including at the vending machine and in the bedrooms.

By starting in Shoreditch and Dublin, we’re beginning to explore what these added comforts mean for the guest experience and how they’re received in different settings. It’s an early step, and part of a wider conversation about how comfort shows up across our hotels. More detail and learnings will follow as this develops, with further updates to come.
